Along with raw foods, I enjoy gardening, antiquing with my husband, and being with family, especially the four grandchildren!
I have been on this lifestyle journey since 1976. In 2006, I became certified as a Raw Food Chef and Lifestyle Coach by The Ekaya Institute of Living Foods Education through The Raw Vegan Network at

In 1971, I graduated from the University of Maryland, College of Home Economics, with a degree in Family and Community Development. My interest in diet and lifestyle intensified when I was pregnant with my first child (1976) and I began to read everything I could about children and diet.
In 1979, I became interested in Natural Hygiene when I read an article in a local newspaper about Hannah Allen’s monthly lectures and began attending. Hannah Allen was very involved in the American Natural Hygiene Society and wrote, "Don't Get Stuck", and "Homemaker's Guide to Foods For Pleasure and Health", among others.
